Welcome to the history of the Blanchet and Blanchette families of North America. According to the Blanchet Family Book, Blanchet and Blanchette families throughout the United States and Canada trace their ancestry to one family.
Our family story in North America reaches back more than 350 years to New France. At the center of that story are Pierre Blanchette and Marie Fournier, who were married in Quebec in February 1670.
Pierre and Marie became the foundation of the Blanchet and Blanchette family in North America, with an estimated 20 million descendants throughout history and approximately 2.5 million living today. They can fittingly be called the “Adam and Eve of the Blanchette Clan.”
Through this website, the Blanchette Families of North America Association, and our YouTube channel, we work to research, gather, preserve, and share the records, photographs, books, documents, and stories of Blanchet and Blanchette families for present and future generations.
